Overview:

  • Aim: Inspiring entrepreneurship in Scotland
  • Starter for 6: New enterprise-development project, running in Scotland until 2009 aiming to support up to 300 entrepreneurs over the three-year project, and working with partners towards creating an environment where innovation can flourish.
  • Entrants: Individuals and teams with an innovative business idea in science, technology and/or the creative industries

  • Opportunity to collaborate with individuals from other sectors
  • Mentoring and industry-specific advice
  • Confidence and ability to articulate the business idea
  • Chance to pitch for grant funding to a panel of experienced experts


How it works:

  1. Apply to Starter for 6 with your innovative idea
  2. Interview selection for the programme
  3. Training covering: Business vision and values, financials, marketing and pitching. You will be provided with support, PR opportunities, guest speakers and mentoring
  4. An opportunity to pitch for grants up to £10,000
