I am a lawyer working in the Edinburgh office of McGrigors where I have been based since 2000.
I specialise in corporate law and have a great deal of experience of working with early stage companies/start-up companies including university spin outs.
The types of legal services we can provide include advising on:-
- different types of business structures such as sole traders, partnerships, LLPs and limited liability companies;
- incorporation of LLPs, companies;
- shareholder issues including the preparation of appropriate constitutional documentation such as shareholders agreements and articles of association governing the relationship between founder shareholders and (if appropriate) equity investors;
- equity and loan investments (we have a great deal of experience in acting for companies in venture capital investments and can give a view on what such investors commonly look for);
- sales of companies and businesses;
- flotations/IPOs.
