Youth Enterprise Scotland - Lothian Area Board
From Entrepedia: The Entrepreneurship Wiki
The YES Lothian Area board is a regionalised area board for Youth Enterprise Scotland
The network of area boards ensures that no student is ever excluded as a result of location, and that all local schools are supported and managed in their participation within YES programmes and seminars.
The Lothian Area board is the largest board in Scotland, working with more than 30 schools and over 40 young companies annually, reaching more than 400 students each year and putting them in touch with more than 50 link teachers and nearly 50 business advisors from all across Edinburgh and the Lothians.
The Lothian Area board keeps those involved within Edinburgh and the Lothians updated throughout the duration of the Company Programme, informing them about training events, the Trade Fair, and awards ceremony. It also provides information about the events after they have taken place for those who were unable to attend. In addition, it offers information about new volunteers and board members, and how to get in touch with them or get involved with YES Lothian.
May Volunteer's Event
In May, the Lothian Area board holds an evening event for anyone interesting in volunteering throughout the coming year. In addition to informing existing volunteers about any changes in the programme or new information that might be important, the Volunteer's Event also allows the Lothian Area board to get in touch with potential new volunteers, so if you are interested, check out their Volunteer's Event webpage as the event approaches.
Lothian Awards Event
The awards evening, held each year in March, marks the culmination of months of hard work and acitivity for the Achievers involved in the programme. Those involved are given a chance to showcase their products, or the skills that they have accumulated throughout the year, such as marketing, sales, operations, or finance directing, and much more.
There are a variety of award categories, one of which includes "Best Company in Lothian", the winners of which will continue on to the National awards ceremony.
